Fortune Teller

Let me share one of my never forgetting movements while studying degree in evergreen MES. I came to MES after completed PDC from Govt. College Pattambi. Early period I couldn’t digest the college atmosphere since SNGS College was big in size of ….
Building;
PDC classes conducted in separate area even in a sheet roofed shed.
PG Block;
College has more than 6 PG courses (1985-87) and PG courses were in a huge building. PG students ware getting full respect from the junior students like us PDC student. Most of the student’s wings selected their candidate among PG students.
Main block;
Degree classes and labs are arranged in this block.
Auditorium;
Really I shocked when I have seen our multipurpose auditorium. College Magazine either 1989 or 1990 itself criticized about auditorium by publishing photo of Auditorium with a caption “Open the cave”. Time passed…good…. now college has good auditorium, proud of it.

First few months of our 1st DC; I was comparing all things with my previous college, even not purposefully. Finally one of our classmate pointed out me this habit as joking. Really still I am remembering that suggestion thankfully.

What ever I had lost in this period but I found MES have a huge gift given by God, may MES only this advantages. All of us enjoyed that gift, college is situating near the beach.

Waves of Arabian Sea have been gently rubbing our campus in every day, no… have to say every movement, sure nobody has left from MES without a visit in the beach. When ever free times have me and my companion has been gone to beach. As everybody me also like the sea and shore too much. Our batch of National Service Scheme (NSS) conducted 10 days camp targeted to literate fisherman and their family member. That was before Kerala become 100% literate. We touched sea and its surround. In my these 10 days camp experience I can say give and take policy may inspired from fisherman since they are in love those are loving them.

As usual that day also we five or six reached in beach, after play with waves me and one of us back to shore. Others were playing in the water, I have noticed one old lady was sitting under a coconut tree. She was chewing pack and carrying a basket and one parrot in a cage.

Since childhood I do not believe the prediction of future, so when ever I found these types of ladies I am getting sympathy. Beginning to end they are lying to live, I believe at least they cannot predict how many people will approach them to know their future and lucky chance.

Slightly I moved to her, sat near to her and started chat with her about her profession, per day income like… She was not much interested to talk with me but she replied with half mood. She reduced her price as 80 or more than 80% when I asked her, normally 4 to five rupees was the normal price. Without any hesitation, re-think or any negotiation, respected lady demanded only one rupee from me for her remuneration. Clever lady she knows we are kids not have much money other than little pocket money. I pointed out one among from us (we can call him Mr. X) to our Kuruva women, X was little bit away from us and I provided a back ground story of Mr. X. Story was 100% correct that he is in love with one girl studying in PDC 2nd year. She is from the same cast of Mr. X, she have two more brothers earned black belt in karate ect..ect….Requested to say all these fact to him when he back to us in your own professional ways. More over I requested to add that girl loves you more than what you are giving to her, girl cannot survive without you. Marrying her will change your life that will be star in your life.

She had been in serious silent, as expected Mr. X and others came to us. According to my plan, I asked to Mr. X to show his hand and encouraged to know future. Already she told some genuine point, we can trust her words….. X criticized me what a fool you, you are behind of such things. One second my mind was in confused, my all work will spoil now?

Secondly talked to him about price of one rupee even though he not agreed with me, what ever it may be, I don’t want to go to her path, he said.

Finally take out my last card from my pocket, I paid one rupee to the lady. X ready now, me also happy.

Professional lady started with her rhythm… was talking about past ….. ummmm expected…then present …. Increased my anxiety… but she continued with out any change or unfeeling she involved sincerely….Wind from Arabian Sea was not enough to wipe out my sweat and eagerly had been waited for my words thru her.

She was going to conclude her job, my whisper was that she not cooperating for any kind of fun, what a lady…. Even I paid her she not pleased me. I proposed to left from there even before completing her work but she finalized by the last words “Don’t believe your friends … your enemies are from your friends, be careful”.
